Aus-Savage.com was first formed by Jaguar who decided to take his clan site and make it into the Aussie savage community. He left his clan (Zer0) shortly after to concentrate more on getting the site together. Since then Aus-Savage has grown to be the home to most Aussie Savage clans with Jag having plans to expand them to have their own personal pages. This is still in progress, and can be seen here.

With the release of Savage 2 and a partnership with Newerth.com in 2007 we gave site and forums a major overhaul including a new theme designed by SKOPE, more Savage 2 support, and better clan features.

Aus-Savage then had no development on it until early 2009 when Jag redesigned the back-end for better error handling, faster rendering, much easier code to expand upon and finally got the disabled and incomplete features working again while SKOPE went over the front-end changing the design giving it a much needed polish.

About the Savage series

Savage: The Battle for Newerth was released in 2003 by independent software developer S2games. It is a fantasy/science fiction computer game that combines aspects of Real-time strategy and First-person shooter into one game. It takes place in the far future when man has (after an apocalypse) rebuilt society, but is threatened by intelligent beasts. On  September 1st 2006, S2Games made the game free to download on its website. It has since been enhanced by the community through various stages over the years. Newerth.com got their hands on the source in 2006 and started getting a development team together to work on a new version called XR. You can see details on progress at Newerth.com.

Savage 2: A Tortured Soul was released in 2008 as the sequel to their first game (Savage: The Battle for Newerth). Following the same theme only now introducing a new race which both teams can gain access to. With much better graphics, improved game play, and many more features it is well worth its original pricetag of $29.99 US price tag. However it has since been released free to play with a few restrictions. You can either get your hands on it from S2Games.com or buy it from steam.
