I think there are way too many maps like this one. I want more open maps like galicerpeak and stuff.
The game that was in my signature sucked.

You see I didn't like Glacier peak either. But it's a very complicated map that makes things interesting and unpredictable. If you 'funnel' everything like on maps such as your own the map becomes stale after you figure out the best placement and  the ideal vantage point.

I would make one but I can't be stuffed learning how to use the map maker.

Well you just gave me an idea, I might make the entrances to the human bases a bit wider so they can't be blocked off.
Other than that there are three ways to enter both bases, and six ways to enter the middle which will result in some interesting tactics imo. If it plays shit when It's put on the server I will change some things as this is my first map and it will be a good learning experience.

I agree, open maps are always better replay value. However do not be mislead into thinking that they are not bound to the same principals, take glacierpoint/glacierpeak for example. While it is an open map, commanders are still more likely to sub/garrison in areas of strategic value eg. stone mine, the point entering the two bases to control the map etc. so ultimately they are not completely different from a map that funnels traffic. The important thing to note/remember with a funnelled map is that you create enough channels to provide uncertainty to the opposing teams. Maps that have only one entrance or a couple of small entrances invarably end up in stale mate and of a concequence lose their enjoyment (for most players) very quickly. In fact it seems that once these maps have been played out, the only people that still enjoy them are either siege whores who enjoy an entire team being funnelled into one attack point, or commanders with very limited flexablity and therefore find the security of a well worn map tactic to their liking. I guess that is the ulitmate difference in maps. One style allows a brilliant commander to really shine, the other allows any retard to slap up a shield and think he is good; yes I am looking at you "the jew". ;)

I agree entirely with aneurysm, but personally I think this map has enough routes to give commanders enough strategic descisions, and generally I dislike completely open maps, they just seem to make it too easy to siege any subs from a large distance. I will definately take your points into consideration when making my next map.

Ok I need some help, I can't add sounds with the SFE or XR editor, and I can't do third layer texturing in the XR editor either - it either crashes or just doesn't save my work.
